I'm In!!

Why Hope?

Hope is not just about being inspired or uplifted.

Nor is it simply the feeling you get after seeing an inspirational speech or post.

Much like love, hope can be incredibly vulnerable, and tender, and personal.

Hope requires us to believe that something could actually be different- for you, for me, or even for all of us- even though we have dozens, even hundreds of stories or pieces of evidence about why things CAN’T be different.

Hope asks us to open ourselves up to disappointment.

Again and again and again.

For me, I realized a couple of months ago that I was feeling little flashes of hope. I honestly didn’t even realize that I was missing it.

And I have to admit, it feels REALLY fragile.

Because I'm probably thinking the same things about what I'm hoping for that you are-

🟠 Do I dare admit that I want this?

🟠 If I let myself hope, am I tempting fate?

🟠 The other shoe could drop at any moment. I have to be prepared.

🟠 Will I have to risk what I already have to get this?

🟠 What if I’m not good enough for this?

🟠 Come on, hope is a luxury I really can’t afford right now.

🟠 I should just be grateful for what I already have. It’s mostly good enough.

If any of these resonate, this workshop is designed for you.

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

What We’ll Do Together

Brené Brown says, "Hope is not an emotion, it's a way of thinking. Hope is brokenhearted on the way to wholehearted."

Hope 101 is a 90-minute session where we’ll hope together- even when it's fragile, even when we're scared.

You'll have an opportunity to:

  • Identify and voice what you're afraid to hope for.

  • Own the stories that tell you hope isn't safe.

  • Be witnessed and supported by other women who are in the same position as you are.

This isn't about leaving with certainty. It's about leaving knowing you're not alone in the vulnerability of hoping and holding a little light of hope inside, no matter how precarious it might initially feel.

This isn’t a lecture. It’s an experience.

We're going to slow down together. Get honest. Explore what hope can look like for you.

You won't do it alone. You'll do it with other extraordinary women who are grappling with the same questions you are.

Come with a journal. Be prepared to be on camera. There will be breakout rooms where genuine connections happen.

We'll lock the Zoom room at 5:40 pm Pacific to protect the container we're creating together.

“The only way to avoid disappointment is to expect nothing. The only way to avoid hurt is to feel nothing. But the only way to live is to risk everything.”
-Brené Brown

Praise for Laura’s Workshops

“Laura’s workshop on How to Fall {Back} in Love with your Work was fantastic! It was very timely and helped me reframe my mindset in a really valuable way going into conversation with my leadership just a few days later. It helped me ask for what I really wanted in my call and it opened the door for further conversation with my leaders.”

— Lauren Hebbel, Assistant Director, EY America

“I just wanted to recognize your coaching in the leadership in the workshops you offer. They have helped me immensely, and I have put several of the tips, insights, and discoveries I learned and uncovered in your workshops into practice, and they have been life-changing. I have grown professionally, personally and even resolved what previously seemed intractable problems. I am thankful for the quality of your work and for your generosity.”

— Deika Elmi, Security and Risk Manager

“I attended Laura’s workshop entitled ‘How to Become a Human Being rather than a Human Doing.’ I honestly felt it was life-changing. Laura expertly guided our group through a process and discussion that left us feeling more connected, brave, and resilient. Since then, I have given myself permission to live more fully. Thank you, Laura.”

— Kelly Duggan, Professor, Georgian College

“Don't be afraid of your fears. They're not there to scare you. They're there to let you know that something is worth it.”
