Why Laura Speaks

We're in a capacity crisis. According to the latest polls, 55% of U.S. workers are burned out, costing companies $322 billion annually in lost productivity, while 82% of managers entering management positions receive no formal leadership training.

Your best people are exhausted, disengaged, and operating at half capacity, not because they're not working hard enough, but because they don't understand how to manage their energy and aren't slowing down long enough to reconnect with what brought them to their work in the first place.

This is costing organizations innovation, retention, and competitive advantage. And the usual solutions, productivity tools, wellness programs, and more AI, aren't addressing the root cause.

Laura knows this crisis from the inside. As a former fashion designer with 25+ years in corporate creative leadership, she watched talented people lose their creative edge, disconnect from their purpose, and burn out trying to do more with less. She now coaches founders, executives, and creative professionals at companies such as HBO, Netflix, Google, Adobe, and Visa on how to restore capacity, both individually and with their teams.

The Capacity Crisis

Why You and Your Best People Are Stuck (And What To Do About It)

Your high performers are exhausted, not simply from the work itself, but from the pace, the pressure, and the feeling that no matter how much they achieve, it's never enough

The stakes have never been higher.: This isn't just burnout; it's costing companies billions in lost innovation, decreased productivity, and turnover. People are performing far below capacity because they don't understand how to manage their energy, and they're not slowing down long enough to reconnect with what brought them to their work in the first place.

In this presentation, Laura shows leaders how to identify where they are in terms of capacity, distinguish between working harder and working better, and restore the creative spark that drives real innovation, without adding more to already full plates.

By the end of this presentation, audience members will be able to:

  • Identify where they are in terms of their own capacity and understand the difference between rest and genuine renewal.

  • Balance developing their people with developing their own strategic insight, so they’re leading the business, not just managing the problems inside it.

  • Apply one specific practice to restore their energetic capacity without adding hours to their already packed schedule.

  • Create conditions for innovation within their teams rather than defaulting to overwork as the solution.

This keynote can also be delivered as a two-hour to a two-day experiential workshop for teams.

Fall {Back} in Love With Your Work

Have your employees (or perhaps you) ever sat at their desks and asked themselves, "How did I get here? Is this what I want?" Or maybe they (or you) have felt themselves coasting in their current roles and realize they are ready for a professional refresh. They know they are ready for more. More ease, more joy… and more meaningful work. Life and leadership coach Laura Foster is on a mission to show career professionals and business leaders how to re-engage with and fundamentally shift their relationship with work to benefit themselves and their companies.

After breast cancer woke her up to the discontent she had been feeling and denying, she slowed down, reevaluated what truly mattered, recalibrated professionally, and now shows others how to do the same. In her signature presentation, Fall {Back} in Love with Your Work, Laura will show your participants/members/attendees how to re-envision their work as an opportunity for professional and personal growth so that they possess more energy, improve professional relationships, make more impact, and position themselves for additional career advancement.

By the end of this presentation, audience members will be able to:

  • Clarify their priorities and learn how to better integrate work into life

  • Take ownership of their thinking, behavior, and actions at work

  • Shift how professional communication is delivered and received by "assuming positive intent."

  • Capitalize on opportunities to learn, grow, and find deeper meaning in their current role.

This keynote can also be delivered as a two-hour to a two-day experiential workshop.

Step Into Your Moxie® Speak Up & Influence

Vocal Empowerment Training

In addition to keynotes, Laura is a certified facilitator for Step Into Your Moxie® Speak Up and Influence, a training program that helps people strengthen their inner and outer voices so they can speak up for themselves and the ideas that matter most to them and their organizations.

According to Crucial Learning, every time an employee fails to speak up in the workplace, it costs a company $7,500. This workshop addresses that cost,  and the toll it takes on people who stay silent when they have something important to say.

Through coaching, training, improv, real-world simulations, and provocative conversations, participants develop the mindset, skill set, and habits to speak with greater power and impact. This isn't theory. It's experiential, hands-on practice in a trauma-sensitive environment that allows everyone to thrive.

This training focuses on supporting participants to be able to:

  • Navigate real and self-imposed barriers to speaking and leadership presence.

  • Develop key presentation skills, including storytelling, vocal variety, and making complex information come to life.

  • Compile and practice using words, phrases, and gestures that heighten persuasiveness and demonstrate personal leadership.

  • Practice calling people to take action on their ideas in low and high-stakes speaking situations (team meetings, pitches, negotiations)

This training can be delivered as a 2-day intensive or adapted for formats as short as a 2-hour workshop.
